I’m Evgeniya Ekadomova, founder of Genya aGency.
New vibrant voices – and brushes! – appear every year in the Russian-language literature for children, teens, and young adults. Still, they hardly reach foreign readers and publishers.
Eight years in foreign rights departments have brought me lots of interesting experience. Before establishing the agency in December 2020, I worked at big and small businesses such as the well-established Azbooka-Atticus, one of the giants on the Russian market, and the high-spirited Samokat, triply shortlisted for the BOP – Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year.
Today I focus on helping publishers, illustrators and writers from Russia and its neighboring countries to find their foreign editors and partners. My goal is to open the contemporary Russian book market to the world: picture books, non-fiction, illustrated stories, YA, and parenting.
Are you a foreign publisher curious about the Russian-language books marked by strong traditions and sharp up-to-date style? Stay tuned and let’s get in touch, I have a lot of new ideas and plans for the future!
